Wave Data

The latest version differs by domain: v1.0.1 (1979-2020) exists only for West Coast, Atlantic, Alaska, and Gulf of Mexico / Puerto Rico. Hawaii and CNMI/Guam are published only as v1.0.0, which also runs to 2020.

Data Format

All files use HDF5 format (.h5) with:

  • Dimensions: 2D time-series arrays (time x location)
  • Temporal axis: Defined by time_index dataset
  • Spatial axis: Defined by coordinate or meta dataset
  • Attributes: Units, variable names, and scale factors included
